Hi,
My friend is a partial, and just got a new computer. She wants to know if there's a simple program that'll magnify the font on the computer. She's tried the magnifier that comes with windows, but she says it's floaty, whatever that means. lol
Or if not something like that, maybe some type of magnifier that'll fit on the monitor itself. So if anyone knows of anything that can help, would you please let me know?
Thanks,

Jen

Their used to be a screen that fit over the monitor, but from what people told me, it blurred the image and did not magnify much. Have you or your friend heard of ZoomText? There is also a program called MAGic. Sorry, since I need speech, I don't know a lot about these programs. You can find out more about ZoomText at aisquared.com.

I use speech as well, but we do know about both of those programs. I think she's looking for something less expensive, since she doesn't seem to need a lot of functionality. But thank you.

I know that a couple years ago, aisquared had a program called BigShot for those who didn't need as much magnification and all the other features of ZoomText. Even though improvements to ZoomText were made so that smaller amounts of magnification could be accessed, they might still offer the BigShot program. It was around $100 as opposed to the $500 price of ZoomText.

From www.aisquared.com
Suffering from computer eyestrain?

This low-cost, easy-to-use magnification program allows you to fine tune the screen for more comfortable viewing. With 20 levels of magnification from 100 to 200 percent, BigShot allows you to focus on your work without straining to see the screen. BigShot is ideal for home and professional use and works great on laptops and desktops. It's the easy-to-use solution to everyday computer eyestrain.

Only $99
